Terms of Use

These terms state the conditions for accessing Brown County Court Docket. By browsing its content, using a search feature, or following its resources, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

NO FCRA USE. Brown County Court Docket is privately operated and has no affiliation with a local, state, or federal government body or court. Neither this site nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit decisions, employment screening, tenant screening, insurance eligibility, or another use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site supplies general Brown County court-resource information only. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of every government office and court. It does not store the official Register of Actions or court file, change a hearing date, retrieve a case for a visitor, or file a document.

For a Brown County District Court matter, the official record custodian is Brown County Court Administration / District Court Administrator. Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO) is the public-facing statewide search service. This site only identifies those and other relevant resources.

2. Informational Use Only

Content is supplied for general information, not as the official record, a court order, or legal advice. Confirm a material court date, filing, result, or copy request with Brown County Court Administration or the court that holds the matter. A Minnesota attorney can advise on a reader's specific circumstances.

Minnesota court case access is governed principally by the Minnesota Rules of Public Access, Rule 8, which distinguishes remote access from access where records are kept and describes the remote access available for specified registers, calendars, indexes, judgment dockets, and court-prepared documents. Rule 4 restricts particular case records, and Minnesota General Rule of Practice 11 requires restricted identifiers to be omitted from public filings or put on the confidential form rather than remotely disclosed. Minnesota Statutes section 13.03 is the general government-data law, not a replacement for those court rules.

3. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Violate federal, Minnesota, or local law
  • Use information here to harass, threaten, or stalk another person
  • Attempt to enter protected systems or obtain unauthorized access
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated tools against the site
  • Interfere with site operation or another person's access

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Brown County Court Docket is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Neither this site nor its advertising partners provides information for purposes regulated by the FCRA. You agree not to use material from this site or a linked tool to:

  • Make a credit decision
  • Make an employment decision
  • Conduct tenant screening or make a housing decision
  • Determine insurance eligibility or rates
  • Make a licensing, permit, or government-program eligibility determination
  • Carry out another purpose regulated by the FCRA

The materials are not designed or supplied for any FCRA-regulated use.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice. General information about a Brown County court docket cannot determine how a charge, case, order, deadline, or filing affects an individual. Consult a licensed Minnesota attorney for legal advice.

6. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed

The site is supplied "as is," and we make no promise that:

  • Information is complete, current, or accurate at every moment
  • The site will be available without interruption
  • Every page will be free of defects, errors, or security issues
  • A third-party search result will be complete or accurate

Court information can change when a filing is made, a hearing moves, a matter is restricted, or a record is amended. MCRO's electronic search result is not a certified record. Before acting on a Register of Actions entry or date, verify it with the Brown County District Court or the Court Administration office that maintains the case.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

The site may link to Court Administration resources, trial-court information, MCRO, legal-aid organizations, and outside search services. A link takes a visitor to a separate service outside our control. We are not responsible for that service's content, availability, charges, or handling of information. Review its own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code on Brown County Court Docket belong to the site or its content partners. Written permission is required before copying, distributing, modifying, or creating derivative work from the material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of this site or a linked service, including a decision made in reliance on information obtained there.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from a claim, action, or demand arising from your use of the site or violation of these terms, including reasonable legal fees and related costs.

11. Governing Law

Minnesota law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Minnesota.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.
